HON'BLE GOVERNOR CONDOLES THE DEMISE OF EMINENT LITTERATEUR SHRI P. NARAYANA KURUP

Hon'ble Governor Shri Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar has expressed grief and conveyed his heartfelt condolences on the sad demise of the eminent poet and literary critic, Padmasree Shri P. Narayana Kurup.

In his message, the Hon'ble Governor said:

Shri P. Narayana Kurup was a rare genius who deeply absorbed the great traditions of Malayalam literature and left an indelible mark on poetry and literary criticism. His passing is an irreparable loss to the world of Malayalam literature.

His multifaceted genius spanning profound knowledge and erudition in poetry, criticism, drama, music, Indian cultural heritage, and philosophy was a true cultural asset to the people of Kerala.

The invaluable contributions he rendered to Malayalam poetry, literature, and culture will be remembered and cherished for all time.

The Hon'ble Governor extended his deepest sympathies to the bereaved family and the literary fraternity.

മലയാള സാഹിത്യത്തിന്റെ മഹത്തായ പാരമ്പര്യത്തെ ആഴത്തിൽ ഉൾക്കൊണ്ട്, കവിതയിലും സാഹിത്യ നിരൂപണത്തിലും അനന്യമായ വ്യക്തിമുദ്ര പതിപ്പിച്ച അപൂർവ പ്രതിഭയായിരുന്നു പദ്മശ്രീ പി. നാരായണക്കുറുപ്പ്. അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ വിയോഗം മലയാള സാഹിത്യലോകത്തിന് നികത്താനാവാത്ത നഷ്ടമാണ്.

കവിത, നിരൂപണം, നാടകം, സംഗീതം, ഭാരതീയ കലാ-സാംസ്കാരിക പാരമ്പര്യം, തത്വചിന്ത തുടങ്ങിയ വിവിധ മേഖലകളിൽ ആഴത്തിലുള്ള അറിവും അവഗാഹവും പുലർത്തിയിരുന്ന അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ ബഹുമുഖ പ്രതിഭ മലയാളികളുടെ സാംസ്കാരിക സമ്പത്തായിരുന്നു.

മലയാള കവിതയ്ക്കും സാഹിത്യത്തിനും സംസ്കാരത്തിനും അദ്ദേഹം നൽകിയ അമൂല്യ സംഭാവനകൾ എക്കാലവും സ്മരിക്കപ്പെടും.
