HON'BLE GOVERNOR CONDOLES THE DEMISE OF VETERAN JOURNALIST SHRI N.R.S. BABU
Hon'ble Governor Shri Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar has expressed deep grief over the sad demise of renowned senior journalist and media educator Shri N.R.S. Babu, who passed away in Thiruvananthapuram on Friday.
In his condolence message, the Hon'ble Governor stated that Shri N.R.S. Babu was an institution in himself, leaving an indelible mark on Kerala's media landscape. Through his illustrious career as the Deputy Editor of Kerala Kaumudi and Editor of Kalakaumudi magazine. He championed the values of courage and fearlessness that shapes investigative journalism.
The Governor also highlighted his vital contributions to shaping the next generation of journalists as the former Director of the Thiruvananthapuram Press Club's Institute of Journalism, as well as his visionary role as a digital multimedia pioneer in the state.
"His passing is a profound loss to the field of journalism and media education. My heartfelt condolences go out to his family members, friends, and the entire media fraternity during this hour of grief," the Governor said.
മുതിർന്ന മാധ്യമപ്രവർത്തകനും മാധ്യമ അധ്യാപകനുമായ ശ്രീ എൻ.ആർ.എസ്. ബാബുവിന്റെ നിര്യാണത്തിൽ ബഹുമാനപ്പെട്ട കേരള ഗവർണർ ശ്രീ. രാജേന്ദ്ര വിശ്വനാഥ് ആർലേക്കർ അഗാധമായ ദുഃഖവും അനുശോചനവും രേഖപ്പെടുത്തി.
കേരളത്തിലെ മാധ്യമ ചരിത്രത്തിൽ തനതായ മുദ്ര പതിപ്പിച്ച പ്രതിഭയായിരുന്നു ശ്രീ എൻ.ആർ.എസ്. ബാബു എന്ന് ഗവർണർ തന്റെ അനുശോചന സന്ദേശത്തിൽ അനുസ്മരിച്ചു. കേരള കൗമുദി ഡെപ്യൂട്ടി എഡിറ്റർ, കലാകൗമുദി എഡിറ്റർ എന്നീ നിലകളിൽ അദ്ദേഹം പുലർത്തിയ ധീരമായ മാധ്യമ നിലപാടുകളും അന്വേഷണാത്മക മികവും ശ്രദ്ധേയമായിരുന്നു.
തിരുവനന്തപുരം പ്രസ് ക്ലബ്ബ് ജേർണലിസം ഇൻസ്റ്റിറ്റ്യൂട്ട് ഡയറക്ടർ എന്ന നിലയിൽ തലമുറകളിലെ മാധ്യമപ്രവർത്തകരെ വാർത്തെടുക്കുന്നതിലും, കേരളത്തിലെ ആദ്യകാല ഡിജിറ്റൽ മൾട്ടിമീഡിയ സംരംഭങ്ങൾക്ക് തുടക്കമിടുന്നതിലും അദ്ദേഹം വഹിച്ച പങ്ക് വിസ്മരിക്കാനാവാത്തതാണെന്ന് ഗവർണർ കൂട്ടിച്ചേർത്തു.
ശ്രീ എൻ.ആർ.എസ്. ബാബുവിന്റെ വിയോഗം മാധ്യമരംഗത്തിനും മാധ്യമ വിദ്യാഭ്യാസ മേഖലയ്ക്കും നികത്താനാവാത്ത നഷ്ടമാണ്. അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ വേർപാടിൽ ദുഃഖിക്കുന്ന കുടുംബാംഗങ്ങളുടെയും സുഹൃത്തുക്കളുടെയും മാധ്യമസമൂഹത്തിന്റെയും ദുഃഖത്തിൽ പങ്കുചേരുന്നതായി ഗവർണർ അറിയിച്ചു.
